The Dark Self

From 6 June 2017, St Mary's Church, Coppergate, York 

The Dark Self is a major new exhibition from renowned artist Susan Aldworth exploring the experience of sleep. Working in collaboration with Professor Miles Whittington, Chair of Neuroscience at Hull York Medical School, and Professor Michael White, Professor of the History of Art at the University of York, the artist has created a multimedia exhibition, which combines audiovisual presentations, sculpture, print, and a centrepiece consisting of more than 200 pillowcases embroidered by a cross-section of the general public (including some HYMS staff).
