HYMS / HONEI Project
These two year posts, funded by Humber Obesity Nutrition, Education and Innovation (HONEI), University of Hull, will be in the Centre for Cardiovascular and Metabolic Research, Hull York Medical School. It will provide an opportunity for candidates who wish to pursue a career in Diabetes and Endocrinology to undertake a research project leading to a higher degree. Clinical and laboratory based research can be accommodated.
These posts offer research opportunities within metabolic studies in cardiovascular risk in obesity, diabetes, polycystic ovary syndrome and other insulin resistant states together with clinical trials of novel dietary and pharmacology interventions. You will be encouraged to engage in and foster multidisciplinary research into the lifestyle and environmental effects on these cardiometabolic conditions.
Degree qualified, you will hold an MBBS qualification and be GMC registered and ideally qualified to MRCP(UK) standards. Your passion for patient health will mean you inspire all around you, and your compassion, enthusiasm and creativity are balanced with strong communication skills.

The University seeks to appoint two Clinical Research Officers in Surgery or Medicine. Exciting opportunities are available for the successful applicants to undertake a piece of original research in oncology, vascular surgery or orthopaedics. Other specialties may also be considered. It is expected that the research will be submitted for a higher degree of the University of Hull.
Whilst undertaking research, the post holders will be required to provide resident medical cover to the Spire Hull and East Riding Hospital, usually on a 1:5 rota.
The successful candidates will possess an appropriate medical qualification and are likely to have FRCS or MRCP part 2. It is also desirable that they have recently successfully acquired ALS and PALS and will be required to have full GMC registration.
The posts require a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
