The University of Hull has been described by generations of graduates and their families as 'the friendly university'. According to recent National Student Survey results, Hull students are among the happiest in Britain and the level of student support it offers is unparalleled. Indeed, as one independent guide put it, the problem for Hull students is often that "they don’t want to leave"!
The University has its main campus on the outskirts of the large and vibrant city of Hull (and only a ten-minute bus ride from the centre), near the leafy village of Cottingham, location of many of the University's halls of residence. With over 15,000 registered students from more than 125 countries, studying at Hull is a cosmopolitan experience.
The University has a solid reputation for research, with a particular focus on the areas relevant to medicine. Psychology, chemistry, biological science, biomedical science, sport, health and exercise science all score consistently highly in external research assessments.
