This special event offers a fascinating insight into neuroimaging. The open evening begins with an introductory talk providing an introduction to brain imaging, followed by tour of the Centre's scanners.
Two sessions are available, starting at 17:30pm and 18:30 respectively.
Each session lasts approximately 1 hour. Numbers are restricted to 25 per session.

We are delighted to be able to welcome Professor Janet Darbyshire, Director of the Medical Research Council's Clinical Trials Unit (CTU), to speak to HYMS staff and students as part of the Academy of Medical Sciences Visiting Lecture Scheme.
Janet, who is also Joint Director of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Network, will talk on the subject of "Challenges to clinical trials today." This is a marvellous opportunity to hear one of the country's most successful clinicians talk about the challenges facing researchers today.

This specialist conference has been organised by Professor Peter Dettmar, a leading research scientist from innovative Hull-based company Technostics, along with Professor Alyn Morice, Professor of Respiratory Medicine at HYMS and the University of Hull; Stephen Ell, an ear, nose and throat consultant based at Hull & East Yorkshire Hospitals Trust; and Professor Michael Fagan, a specialist in medical and biological engineering from the University of Hull.
The event is being supported by Hull Forward, Hull & East Yorkshire Conferences and the Hull Truck Theatre.

This workshop brings together an interdisciplinary set of speakers to look at the experience of bodily vulnerability and consider its implications for the understanding of embodiment and selfhood.
The resources of phenomenology will be put into conversation with accounts of the lived experiences of those living with illness, pain or other kinds of bodily vulnerability. Contributions will be made from, philosophers, health practitioners, medics and others.
