Welcome to the Hull York Medical School Junior Doctor blog

We know how daunting it is to suddenly find yourself out in the world of work, dealing with real-life people, emergencies and situations where you might feel out of your depth. That's why we have asked recent graduates Laura Cunliffe and Oladunni Adeleye (Class of 2017) to share their experiences as they negotiate life as a junior doctor.

We hope you will enjoy reading these candid, funny accounts of the ups and downs of an FY1 student. If you are an undergraduate on the MB BS programme, we hope they may help prepare you even better for your career in medicine. For those of you who have already graduated and are working as doctors, perhaps these posts will strike a chord with your own experiences. Either way, if you feel inspired to be a blog contributor, we'd love to hear from you. Please get in touch with us at alumni@hyms.ac.uk.

Enjoy!
