Postgraduate research conference

The Postgraduate Research Conference was held, for the third year running, at the Ron Cooke Hub, University of York.

The  conference provides a  platform for our postgraduate students to share their research with a wider audience, as well as a chance to meet other researchers within and beyond their field of study.

  • Programme

    The conference showcased the diverse range of postgraduate research conducted within HYMS, with 23 poster presentations and 11 oral presentations from postgraduate research students.

  • Keynote Speaker

    This year's keynote speech was given by Professor David Beech, Director of the Multidisciplinary Cardiovascular Research Centre, entitled “Calcium ion entry through TRPC channels: discovery, disease, and drugs”. 


  • Conference Awards

    Chloe Walsh received the prize for the best oral presentation for her talk on "The Effect of Serotype on Early and Late Mortality in Invasive Pneumococcal Disease in Hull and East Yorkshire 2002-2009".

    Constantine Simintiras received the prize for the best poster presentation for his research on "Amino Acid and Glucose Profiles of Bovine Oviduct Epithelial Cell Secretion in Response to Oestrogen, Progesterone and Fibroblast Exposure."
