If you are in the second or subsequent year of a HYMS research degree (PhD, MD or MSc by thesis), you are required to submit an abstract, attend and present at the conference.
If you are in your first year of study, we recognise that you might not have enough work to present. However, if you think you are able to present in your first year, you are welcome to submit an abstract.
If you are not registered on a HYMS research degree, but you are supervised by HYMS members of staff (e.g. in Biology at York), you are also welcome to submit an abstract.
You will be addressing an audience with a wide range of medical and scientific knowledge, so you should convey your specialist research in broader terms. Your abstract should be a maximum of 300 words. It must include a title, and (if relevant) subsections such as background, methods, results and conclusions. No diagrams, figures or references should be used. You should submit the abstract in Word format (.doc or .docx).
Submit your abstract to firstname.lastname@example.org by 17:00 on Friday 28 February 2014. A penalty will be imposed for exceeding the word limit, late submission or wrong format. Your abstract will be rigorously reviewed.
