Mark is Senior Lecturer in Immunology. His research laboratory is based in the Centre for Immunology and Infection focusing on the physiology of immune responses. He currently has 6 PhD students and 1 postdoctoral scientist.
Mark is the block 4 lead (Phase I curriculum committee), provides a plenary lecture on blood cells and provides an Student Selective Course (SSC) on human stem cells. He teaches Immunology for Biology undergraduate students and mammalian genetics and imaging to masters students in Biology.
Mark is highly involved in outreach activities and is a STEM ambassador. He is the outreach coordinator for the Centre for Immunology and Infection and a member of the University Science and Society Group. He has taken part in several STEM events and helped coordinate the Centre of Immunology and Infection outreach stand and learning materials for school children.
