Prof Lacey is a clinical academic based in York. His research interests are in HIV and sexually transmitted diseases. He holds grants from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Welcome Trust, and the European Commission. His group focuses on the development of microbicides to block HIV transmission, the development of HIV vaccines which drive genital tract responses, and the pathogenesis of Chlamydia and HPV.
