Jean McKendree received her first degree in Neuropsychology from Trinity University and her MSc and PhD in Cognitive Science from Carnegie Mellon University. She worked in industrial research at IBM T J Watson, MCC research consortium, and NYNEX before moving into academia in the UK in 1993.
She joined HYMS in 2003 before the school opened. As Assoc Dean for Assessment and Senior Lecturer in Medical Education, her current primary areas of responsibility are assessment strategies, eLearning, postgraduate training in teaching and learning for HYMS staff,and educational research. Jean received a University of York Vice-Chancellor’s Team Teaching Award for her involvement in the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice.
