The small size of the school means that all 70 students at Hull and at York each year get to know each other very quickly.
Our 'guided discovery' method of problem-based learning, supported by clinical placements and a clear focus on communication skills from the start of the course, is producing a new generation of patient-centred doctors.
You work in small student groups throughout the course. In the first two years, your group meets twice a week with two different tutors so you quickly get to know the medical school staff. Your PBL facilitator is your personal advisor, and you also have the extensive support available from the international offices of the Universities of Hull and York.
We aim to be the first 'paperless medical school'! Innovative electronic resources are used to support all learning.
A wide range of optional topics can be studied as student-selected components, covering the basic sciences, clinical sciences and arts and humanities. Overseas electives also ensure breadth of education.
You can undertake an additional year of study for an intercalated BSc or MSc.
We are halfway between London and Edinburgh, in the heart of the UK, with excellent transport links.
All international students are guaranteed university accommodation in their first year and given priority in subsequent years.
