Deputy Director Physician Associate Studies

Role at Hull York Medical School

As Deputy Director of the Physician Associate Studies I support the module lead. I am a PBL / Clinical Skills Tutor to year 1 students on the program. Additionally I am the Acute Care (Clinical Science & Practice 3) module lead in year 2. I am also lead for Pharmacology.

Additionally I deliver year 3 undergraduate Pharmacology, Prescribing & Therapeutics.

Biography

My background is Emergency Medicine. I was appointed Consultant in Emergency Medicine in 1998 and had a major interest in trauma. I directed the Hull Advanced Trauma Life Support Course for over a decade and remain an Advanced Life Support Course Director.

As Emergency Medicine Training Program Director for the region I was responsible for both Acute Care Common Stem trainees in Acute Care, Emergency Medicine and Anaesthetics as well as Emergency Medicine Higher Specialist Trainees.

Additionally I was Hull City Club Doctor for 15 years taking the club from the bottom of League 2 to the Premier League.

I am a keen cricketer.
