HULL YORK MEDICAL SCHOOL Stories

The consultants were very welcoming to medical students and encouraged us to shadow them and assist in the operating theatre. The sheer amount of experience you get over five years before you graduate means that you hit the ground running when you start working as a doctor.

Our universities

Two universities: One exceptional curriculum

When you receive your offer to study with us, you will be allocated a home campus of either the University of Hull or the University of York, where you will be based for the first two years of your programme.

From your third year onwards, you will be on clinical placements at hospital sites, GP surgeries and community settings across the region.

As a partnership between the Universities of York and Hull, and NHS trusts across our region, we are able to offer a rarely matched breadth of clinical experience.

And as a member of both universities, you’ll enjoy access to the best facilities, support networks, research opportunities and academic expertise that each institution offers.
