Research

Research in the Centre for Atherothrombosis and Metabolic Disease (CAM) aims to increase our understanding of molecular and cellular mechanisms responsible for development of disease, and translate these findings into clinical benefits.

Our research includes programmes on chronic conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, wound healing, infertility and airway inflammation. As these negatively impact quality of life and life expectancy, our goal is to develop new therapeutic approaches to manage these conditions.

Our innovative work tackles the following core themes – so we can ultimately improve the care for our patients and communities. Please explore each of these areas to discover details of the research taking place in our Centre.
