Head of South Tees Academic Centre for Surgery (ACeS), which is a partnership between HYMS, South Tees NHS Trust, Department of Health Sciences and The Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Designated supervisor for HYMS Integrated Academic Training programme, supervising Pre-doctoral and Doctoral studentships in trauma & orthopaedic surgery.

Biography

Amar is specialist Shoulder & Elbow Surgeon at South Tees Hospitals NHS Trust in Middlesbrough, providing district & tertiary services in his specialty. He leads a programme of clinical & translational research, including NIHR funded multi-centre clinical trials that have informed clinical practice, national guidelines & policy. He has held key national appointments as President of British Elbow & Shoulder Society, & appointments with British Orthopaedic Association & National Joint Registry.
