Lecturer in Clinical Anatomy

Role at Hull York Medical School

Amy contributes to learning and teaching on HYMS undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. She teaches across MB BS Phase 1 (Year 1 and Year 2) and the Gateway to Medicine programme. Amy also teaches on the MSc Clinical Anatomy (and Education) programme and supervises research projects.

Amy’s research interests lie in learning and teaching, specifically student expectations, transition to higher education, compassionate pedagogy, and anatomy education.

Biography

Amy has over 10 years’ experience teaching in both further and higher education settings and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

She completed her undergraduate degree in Sport Rehabilitation at the University of Hull in 2013 and went on to gain her PGCE with the University of Huddersfield.

Before joining HYMS in 2025, Amy was a Lecturer in Sport Rehabilitation at University of Hull where she taught anatomy for six years.

Research

Amy’s research interests lie in learning and teaching, specifically student expectations, transition to higher education, compassionate pedagogy, and anatomy education.

Amy is actively publishing in these areas and presents regularly at national conferences.
