Dimitris Lagos is a Professor of Immunology. His research focuses on the interplay between Immunotherapy and RNA Medicine in cancer and chronic immune-mediated diseases.
Research in our group bridges mechanistic studies in immune gene regulation with RNA medicine and immunotherapy.
We study RNA-driven mechanisms of immune gene regulation in immune and stromal cells and their targets, predominantly in the context of cancer.
Current projects include:
- Studying the role of transcriptome instability and core RNA metabolism processes as drivers of cancer development, progression, and response to treatment.
- Utilising cancer immunogenomics, including long-read RNA sequencing, to improve outcomes for people receiving cancer immunotherapies.
- Pharmacological targeting of RNA-centric processes.
- Exploring the role of non-coding RNAs in immune gene regulation in diseases driven by inflammation.

We are members of the Centre for Blood Research and the Jack Birch Unit at the University of York. Our group is part of the national MANIFEST immuno-oncology consortium.
