Research Fellow working on the SUPPORTED study which aims to improve the quality and sustainability of homecare delivered by homecare workers to people with advanced illness approaching the last months of life.

Biography

Kasonde joined the Wolfson Palliative Care Research Centre as a Research Fellow in December 2022. Kasonde holds a PhD in Global Health from University College London, and a MPH in Behavioral Sciences and Health Education from Emory University. During her PhD, Kasonde worked as a Research Assistant on various projects including preventing gender based violence in Turkey, preventing violence against children during the COVID pandemic and an evaluation of the WHO Quality of Care Network.

Research

Kasonde's research has mainly focused on the experiences of adolescents living with HIV in Sub-Saharan Africa, including the barriers to accessing and engaging in HIV care and treatment.
