Biography

Kathryn graduated with a first class degree in Medical Science from the University of Birmingham in 2006, and went on to complete her PhD thesis entitled ‘An investigation into the effects of Epstein-Barr virus-encoded nuclear protein, EBNA1, on the TGFβ and BMP signalling pathways in human epithelial cells’ in 2011.

She spent two years working as a post-doctoral research assistant at the University of Hull, on a project funded by the NC3Rs to develop a microfluidic approach to study the procoagulant potential of ovarian tumours. Since January 2014, she has been working as a research development assistant in academic oncology, where her main role is in assisting consultant oncologists with the development of protocols and grant applications for prospective clinical studies.
