Role at Hull York Medical School

Senior Education and Assessment Fellow, and Honorary Clinical Lecturer. In this role I work within the Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, delivering undergraduate medical education to students on clinical placement in Hull. I also work with the assessment team at HYMS.

I am a Senior Education and Assessment Fellow at HYMS, having completed two years as a Clinical Teaching Fellow following my foundation training programme as a junior doctor. I studied medicine at the University of Leeds, where I also undertook an intercalated degree in Medical Education.

I moved back to my hometown of Hull in 2019, where I completed my foundation training. In my free time, I also teach a range of fitness classes in gyms around Hull.

My research exploring medical students' perceptions of good bedside teaching on clinical placement has recently been accepted for publication in The Clinical Teacher. I am also conducting further research as part of my Masters in Health Professions Education.

I teach students across all years of the MB BS in Hull. I mostly conduct bedside teaching with students on clinical placement at Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital. I also support the teaching of physician associate students.
