MBBS Programme Academic Lead for Student Quality Improvement

Role at Hull York Medical School

Tom is the Academic Lead for student Quality Improvement work. Leading on teaching, supervision and assessment of the student QI projects undertaken in Year 3.The student QI projects and teaching, undertaken in Year 3, form part of the Special Interest Projects (SSIP) strand of the programme and aim to equip students with the necessary skills and enthusiasm to improve quality of care and outcomes for patients in their future medical careers.

Biography

Dr Tom Morris graduated from Hull York Medical School in 2011 and is now a Consultant in Emergency Medicine in West Yorkshire. Tom is passionate about Quality Improvement (QI) work and empowering frontline teams to make small changes that can have a big impact on the quality of patient care. Tom is the QI lead for his Emergency Department, supervising all trainees as they undertake projects as well as teaching Consultants in his trust and EM Trainees across the Yorkshire & Humber region.
