Senior Anatomy Technician (Prosector)

Role at Hull York Medical School

I support the delivery of anatomy teaching within Hull York Medical School through the preparation, maintenance and management of cadaveric specimens, prosections and teaching resources. My role includes dissection and prosection work, laboratory preparation, health and safety compliance, student support during practical sessions, and the maintenance of anatomical facilities and equipment. I also contribute to the development of teaching materials, specimen preservation, photography for educational purposes, and the overall running of the anatomy laboratories.

Biography

Otis Enedegbo, AFHEA, is a Senior Anatomy Technician (Prosector) at Hull York Medical School with a background in human anatomy, cadaveric dissection and anatomical education support. He holds a BSc and an MSc in Human Anatomy from the University of Dundee, where he developed advanced skills in gross anatomy, neuroanatomy, prosection, and embalming techniques.

Otis has experience supporting anatomy teaching across medical and healthcare programmes and has a particular interest in cadaveric dissection, neuroanatomy, anatomical variation and medical education. He is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA) and has contributed to anatomical research, conference presentations and educational resource development. His work also includes anatomical photography, specimen preparation and the use of emerging technologies such as 3D printing in anatomy education.
