Qualitative Researcher in Clinical Trials

Role at Hull York Medical School

My current role at University of Hull/HYMS is to undertake qualitative research on recruitment challenges within the LaCeS 2 trial (a multicentre, randomised controlled trial of Laparoscopic versus Open Colorectal Surgery in the Acute Setting). We hope that the insights developed from this study will provide helpful guidance for the design and conduct of future clinical studies in the emergency setting.

I am a postdoctoral health psychology and health services researcher, with an academic background in psychology and social sciences. I received my PhD in 2025 from City St George's, University of London, which used a range of qualitative methodologies to explore experiences of people living with age-related macular degeneration.
