Role at Hull York Medical School

I am a Postdoctoral Researcher in Implementation Science at Hull York Medical School, based in the Hull Health Trials Unit. My work focuses on applying implementation theory and methods to understand how health interventions can be effectively integrated into routine practice.

I work across two multi-site studies. In the NEWDAY-ABC trial, I contribute to the process evaluation of a co-designed weight management intervention for women following breast cancer treatment. I also work on the NIHR-funded Re-SCAIT study, which evaluates the implementation of a salivary cortisone test for adrenal insufficiency across NHS services.

Across both projects, I use qualitative methods, including interviews, observations, and co-design approaches, to understand how interventions are implemented in practice and the factors that influence whether they become part of routine care.

Biography

I completed my PhD in Infant Nutrition at the University of Otago, exploring how infant feeding practices affect nutrient intake and iron status. After my PhD, I worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Leeds on the interdisciplinary My First 1000 Days study, which involved co-producing a group care programme for caregivers of infants in the first year of life and evaluating its feasibility and acceptability in practice using a prototyping approach.

Research

I am particularly interested in implementation science, qualitative research, and co-production approaches. My research focuses on understanding how health interventions are experienced in practice and what helps them become part of routine care.
