General Practice is changing. At the core are the same principles of whole-person medicine that have defined our discipline from the outset. What is changing is how and why we use those skills in everyday practice: to support patients and our communities; to enable our practice teams to deliver best care; and to lead the discussions and decisions on healthcare practice and policy.
Tailored Care: Tackling Too Much Medicine

This course focuses on boosting confidence and skills in the practice of patient-facing whole person medical care and will challenge delegates by posing questions and providing space to critically consider solutions:
- Is there such a thing as Too Much Medicine (TMM)? What are its implications?
- Evaluate practical strategies to help manage the impacts of TMM, including problematic polypharmacy and treatment burden in multimorbidity
- Critically consider the effectiveness and safety of advanced generalist knowledge work, including avoiding the alternative of ‘too little medicine’
