The relationship between anatomy and health technology is reciprocal: A solid foundation in anatomy is fundamental to developing new applications in health technology, while advances in health technology provide a new opportunity to understand anatomical structure-function links, as well as human variability.
The MSc in Health Technology and Human Anatomy, based on campus at the University of York, furthers your understanding and experience of human anatomy through dissection, anatomy as viewed through medical imaging and 3D modelling, and functional anatomy. At the same time, anatomical sciences are integrated into modules exploring current and developing applications in health technology fields. In the context of this programme, the relevant technology will include medical imaging, segmentation, 3D modelling, medical devices, and computer-aided diagnosis.
You will be taught in our state-of-the-art anatomy lab facilities for dissection, where you will gain the unique experience of working with and studying a range of donor material preserved using Thiel, Formalin and plastination embalming techniques.
You will have the opportunity to learn from academic experts in both anatomical sciences and medical engineering, who create a dynamic and supportive learning environment as part of a diverse and welcoming community. With the guidance of this expert team, you will learn practical skills that are applicable to this fast-moving industry.
This course is also an ideal option for intercalation. Read on to find out more.
