Hull York Medical School ranked in the top 10 in the UK for Medicine in the Guardian University Guide 2027

Hull York Medical School has been ranked 10th in the UK for Medicine as part of the Guardian University Guide 2027, placing it amongst the leading medical schools in the country and reflecting its continued commitment to delivering exceptional medical education and a high-quality student experience.

The Guardian University Guide is published annually and provides both institution and subject level rankings for every UK university and subject area. It focuses on the university experience, looking at factors such as teaching satisfaction, feedback and graduate outcomes.

As well as ranking 10th overall for medicine, the School placed 3rd in the UK for teaching satisfaction, and 2nd for satisfaction with feedback, highlighting its commitment to delivering exceptional medical education.

The Guardian University Guide 2027 result follows a period of continued success for Hull York Medical School, during which is has consistently been recognised in national league tables and student surveys. The National Student Survey (NSS) 2026 placed the School ahead of the sector across all survey themes, and saw it ranked 2nd for Assessment and Feedback, and Wellbeing, and 3rd for Teaching. The School was also ranked in the top ten of UK medical schools in the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2026.
