What is the Yorkshire and Humber Palliative Care Research Network?

The Network aims to help address inequalities in palliative and end of life care across Yorkshire and Humber, for people of all ages, through:

• Increasing research capacity in services and areas where palliative and end of life research has not usually taken place
• Improving engagement in palliative and end of life research for public, patients, practitioners and those who manage or commission services
• Delivering more diverse recruitment into palliative care research studies
• Overall, delivering better evidence about palliative and end of life care, in order to improve care for everyone

Who can join the Network?

You are welcome to join the Network if you are interested in improving palliative and end of life care through research, and are:

• A member of the public in the Yorkshire and Humber region
• A health or social care practitioner working in the Yorkshire and Humber region
• A professional who manages or commissions health or social care services relevant for palliative and end of life care, in the Yorkshire and Humber region
• A researcher working on palliative and end of life care research (or closely related areas) in the Yorkshire and Humber region

What will happen if I join the Network?

• You will be asked to sign up, including providing an email address
• You will receive a regular newsletter of news, events, and opportunities to learn more and to engage with the Network
• Health or social care practitioners working in the Yorkshire and Humber region will be able to apply for funds for one or two sessions of their time to work with the Network over a short period of time (weeks or months) – this opportunity will be available in November 2022, for working with us during 2023
• You will have the chance to shape and contribute to new bids for research funding about improving palliative and end of life care
