Virtual Summer School

Hull York Medical School’s Virtual Summer School programme is a widening participation scheme designed to support students from backgrounds that are traditionally underrepresented in Higher Education.

Introduction

About the programme

This year our Virtual Summer School will give you the chance to take part in Problem based Learning sessions, meet doctors and current medical students, practice the UCAT test, take part in medical workshops and sessions and find out more about making an application to study medicine at University.

All the activity will be hosted on the Sutton Trust Online platform which gives you access to a range of resources and support about higher education. The week will include a mixture of live content and re-recorded session for you to work through at your own pace.

You will get to take part in group discussions with other students from across the Yorkshire and Humberside region who are also interested in studying medicine, and we have some fun social activities planned as well.

The summer school will also be complimented by e-mentoring with a current medical student from August through to January to give you that extra support when considering an application to university.

The Summer School is free to attend and all associated costs will be covered by Hull York Medical School.
