Postgraduate Taught International Scholarships are available for students applying for the following programmes at Hull York Medical School in 2027:
Award value
Each award offers a 20% fee reduction in the total tuition fees for 2027 entry. There are two awards available to students applying to any of the eligible programmes listed above, for both part-time and full-time study.
How will the scholarships be awarded?
The scholarships will be awarded based on academic merit. A panel of senior members of staff from the Medical School will select the strongest applications and will be looking for the following:
- Personal achievements and the strength of the applicant's academic profile
- Commitment to their chosen field of study and to their career development
- Understanding of and commitment to the Medical School’s values
Eligibility criteria
To be considered for this award:
- You must have applied to study by 30 April 2027 and hold an offer (conditional or unconditional) for one of the eligible programmes listed above.
- You must be paying tuition fees at the International (including EU) rate. If you are not sure of your fee status, visit the University of York website.
- You must be commencing your degree course in September 2027. Students who are applying in 2026/2027 for deferred entry will not be eligible for this award but will be advised of scholarships available to them in their year of entry.
- Applicants who have achieved, or are predicted to achieve, a First-Class undergraduate degree will be automatically nominated.
- Applicants who have achieved a 2:1 or 2:2 undergraduate degree may also be nominated for consideration if they demonstrate a clear dedication to studying the programme at Hull York Medical School within their personal statement.
- Applicants who have achieved a 2:2 undergraduate degree should also provide strong evidence of relevant work experience within the field of postgraduate study.
